DILLED COTTAGE CHEESE BREAD

  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ cup warm water
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dillweed
  • 1 tsp dill seed
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup creamed cottage cheese, heated
  • 2 ½  - 2 ¾ cup flour

Dissolve 1 tsp sugar in warm water.  Sprinkle yeast into water and let stand 10 minutes until frothy.  Add egg, 2 tbsp sugar, butter, salt, dillweed, dill seed, soda and cheese.  Mix until blended.  Add 1 cup flour and beat for 2 minutes.

 

Mix in remaining flour.  Cover and let rise until doubled.  Turn into a round dish.  Let rise again until doubled—45 minutes.  Bake at 350 degrees F  for 40-45 minutes.
