Apple, Pear and Plum Chutney

2 medium pears, peeled, cored and chopped

2 medium apples, peeled, cored and chopped

8-10 medium sized plums, pitted and chopped

1 small onion, chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

1 lemon zested and juiced

1 ½ teaspoon ground ginger

1 teaspoon cinnamon

½ teaspoon ground cloves (optional)

1 teaspoon mustard seeds (optional)

1 cup white wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar

1 cup honey

1/3 cup raisins

½ teaspoon salt


Combine all ingredients in a heavy bottomed sauce pan.  Bring mixture to the boil and then simmer for 30 minutes until the mixture is thickened and the fruit is soft.  Stir frequently to prevent scorching.


Great served with pork or over vanilla ice cream.
